Who We Are

Introduction

Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace (DREP) Centre is an initiative of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos. It was established to proactively respond to the incessant destruction of lives and property, the polarization of Christian and Muslim settlement in Jos and environs, the ‘revenge’ mentality among youths, and the gap created by prejudice and ignorance of religion.

The Centre was founded in 2011 by His grace, Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama as a result of the tense and often escalating violence in Plateau State which posed a serious security challenge to it, neighbouring State and the country at large since Jos is highly cosmopolitan and primarily represents a miniature Nigeria endowed with attractive climate and several ethnic and religious groups.

The activities of the Centre has since moved to other parts of the country to include states in Benue, Kaduna, Adamawa, Borno and Yobe with existing presence and field offices covering those locations.
